Don't Spoil Your Child Too Much
We all want to raise free children. We want them to know how to behave and be respectful. We do our best to make them grow up with love, but sometimes we spoil them more than necessary. We should make them understand the reasons for the rules we set by explaining them.
While raising our children, we can ensure they become better-behaved children by having them follow the rules we set, even if it's not about setting too many boundaries. For example, when they ask for some time to not sleep, you can give them some time, but you can also tell them that it should not exceed the time you've set. Thus, next time they will know the limits of what they ask from you and make requests accordingly.
Don't Say Yes to Everything They Want
When you set a rule, don't break that rule later. If you have set a rule, you must first ensure it is followed.
When you say no to your child, you should do so with a gentle tone of voice but with a firm stance. You should not give the impression that they can change your mind by insisting.
When they ask you for something, if you are undecided about what they want, the best solution is to ask them why they want it. If the reasons they present are valid, you can accept it.
Just as you shouldn't say yes to everything your child says, you shouldn't do everything they want. Otherwise, you may encounter unexpected difficulties when you try to set rules in the future.
