What is Obesity?
Yesterday I watched a commercial on TV, it was from an anti-obesity association. They talked about weight. It wouldn't be wrong to call obesity the plague of our age. I became interested in the subject because the development of healthy societies directly concerns the future of the country and the welfare of the people. When we look at Europe and America, an obese and hollow society is starting to emerge. It is very easy to see this in many foreign films we watch.
Because people's priorities have changed; along with that, living conditions, eating habits, and even human relationships have changed. For so many changes to happen in a period of ten to fifteen years has been too much for the human body, and we can almost say our brains have gone bankrupt.
Why can't we think healthily? We can't eat naturally, we attack ready-made foods. Despite knowing that we can restore our brain's performance by reading books for 17 hours in return for 1 hour of watching television, we don't leave the TV for hours. We don't meet with our spouse or friends. We don't remember the last time we had coffee with our closest friend.
As a result, we don't experience psychological relief, and it leads to mental problems. Due to our constant obsession with weight, we starve ourselves, we eat sporadically, and we don't get the necessary nutrients. Our days are now spent rushing to figure out how to damage our health further, rather than how to protect it. Nevertheless, take care of yourselves; everything can be reversed, but health never can.
